Everything you need to know

How often you need to charge your batteries depends on how much you use your mobility scooter or power chair. If you use it daily, plug in and charge the batteries as soon as you’re done for the day, letting them charge for 8 to 14 hours. For occasional use, charge the batteries for 8 to 14 hours twice a week to keep them maintained. Avoid charging longer than 14 hours. Always refer to your battery charger’s manual for specific guidelines.

If you use your mobility scooter daily and rack up miles, it may eventually need repairs. No matter how simple or complex the issue, your provider can assist you. Routine service checks are important to keep your scooter in top shape.

Always have your motorized scooter serviced by an authorized Pride provider. Their trained technicians can run diagnostic tests and handle repairs. Call your provider to book a service appointment if needed. For safety, we don’t recommend attempting repairs yourself.

No, you don’t need a license to operate a mobility scooter. However, we recommend exercising caution, especially if you haven’t been out in traffic recently.

If you’ve lost your mobility scooter key, start by contacting your dealer. If you purchased from a local store, you’re in luck—many scooter keys are universal across models. If you can’t reach your dealer, use our dealer locator to find one nearby. To move your scooter without the key, switch it to freewheel mode using the lever under the seat. This allows you to push it manually in neutral.

4-wheel scooters typically have a wider wheelbase for added stability, while 3-wheel scooters are generally more compact, lighter, and offer a tighter turning radius for easier maneuvering.

No, our mobility scooters are built to support only one person—the user. Carrying another person is not recommended, as it can cause the scooter to tip over and result in injury to both you and the passenger.
